Yes, I agree. Shutters will definitely be worth it. I look forward to hearing about them and seeing a pic. I definitely agree about the second-hand furniture. So much more character as well. I will look up those drawer liners as well as those look like just what I need! Thanks for the tips.

Not sure whether this is cheering or not but I have really enjoyed following your renovation stuff and you have given me a target to aim for (get rid of all IKEA furniture).

Not only our forefathers. I also keep Earwax and snuff in my joints, not for extra rigidity you understand, just because you have to keep them somewhere.

I’m afraid I prefer ‘Eau de Attic’, which sounds like a great room freshner, but that’s just me.

My morning drunkeness doesn’t need treating thank you very much and my nervous afflictions are cured by morning drunkeness. So no TINCT. NUC. VOM. for me thank you. (unless you fill the bottle with Gin)

Don’t just think about a wood burner. Get one. They are the way forward.

I can’t help you with your tummy, but an audio of it would be fun.

Thank you Homebuilder! Our place is around 1860s and has all the faults and foibles of an old home but we love it after our unornamented 1960s place.

Some of my friends don’t understand why we want second hand furniture - urgh smelly, someone else has used it etc. - but it is the way to go if you want to be green and not have a home like everyone else (a “cooker cutter” home as our American friends would call them). Just needs a bit of elbow grease and some time looking for the perfect fit.

I shall keep you posted on the shutters! Yes shutters are expensive (after getting three carpenters quotes and two specialist companies) but worth it we feel for our big old windows.
