This weekend we’re trying to cost up everything we need to buy for the new flat for our grand renovation project; down to the last doorknob and tile.
Today we went at looked at swanky Italian tiles and less swanky sheets of B&Q MDF.

Our tile choices

Bathroom tiles (round grey/white/black mosaic and grey floor tile)

One of our Kitchen tiles choices (matt metalic backed glass, also having gloss white bevelled metro tiles in here)

Our cloakroom tiles (irridescent charcoal grey and cadmium yellow glass mosaics)
It’s really exciting getting to pick things out - it makes it feel really ‘real’.
When I’ve had three to six months of doing up the flat I’ll let your know how I feel about tiling after I’ve put them all up
(Excuse crap photographs, we have no natural light in our current flat - arrggghhhhh).

Oh, it all looks so fab!
Have you got a moving in date yet?

Yep, we get the keys on 2nd October and move our stuff in on the 4th - it’s very exciting! We are hiring ‘Aussie Men and Van’ for the move so I am delegating all heavy lifting to two burly Aussies on the day.
We might change our bathroom ideas if we can get the tiles we *actually* want but sadly only sell in the US. The little 1″ hexagonal 1920/30’s ‘penny’ white floor tiles with scattered random black hexagons combined with a shiny white rectangular historic ’subway’ tile for the walls. All very classic New York bathroom style from when we’ve rented pre-war lofts/apartments in NYC.
Even more exciting is that I’ve been getting some proper mid-century modern (50’s/60’s) Danish furniture on eBay. I really want to try and move away from the all IKEA look and get some good pieces. We’ve got a Danish table and chairs so far (I need to recover the chairs but I’ve got some funky fabric from Cath Kidson) and I’m bidding on a sideboard right now.
God, I’m turning into a flat-owning bore!!!
