BT have told us that due to “engineering issues” we can’t have a phone line for two weeks after we move in*. Two weeks without a voice line doesn’t bother us much as we both have mobiles but two weeks without a data line for our broadband…
NO INTERNET FOR TWO WEEKS

Well I had my library induction today and it taught me two useful things:
1. Head librarians can be weird - but very useful - people, who may sweat a lot
2. Those who run fast get book
For my £3,000 yearly fee I am clearly expecting too much - like that there will be more than 8 [...]

This weekend we’re trying to cost up everything we need to buy for the new flat for our grand renovation project; down to the last doorknob and tile.
Today we went at looked at swanky Italian tiles and less swanky sheets of B&Q MDF.

My first week at Uni seems to be going well. We aren’t really doing much as it’s enrolment and Freshers stuff this week. Next Monday lectures start in earnest.

…at University today and enrolement was surprisingly easy (bye bye £3000) with minimal faffing.
We were talked ‘at’ a lot by various reps, vice-chancellors and officers and I really needed a coffee to keep going. The low point of the morning was a campus fire safety video which said fire was a “Phantom Menace.” Hmmm.
