Flickr Pinchr

Some fucker is pinching my photos on Flickr again and uploading them as their own. This really pisses me off.

I’ve changed my settings from a Creatives Commons licence to a totally all rights reserved one. I didn’t want to do that as I really love what CC stands for and it’s a pity that some gimps cannot abide by some simple rules.

Flickr (or should I say Yahoo) do not make it easy to get stolen pictures taken down. Thanks for that.

And a big thank you to the person who told me my stuff was being pinched.

That’s horrible! And why would anyone want to do that? Do they actually pretend those pictures are their own and not yours? The stupidity. :-/

That’s so cheeky! I hope they drop their camera in a big pile of dog poo.

    What a starbard!

I know it looks slightly nasty, and I know it’s sad that I have to do so, but I *always* embed a small (hopefully) unobtrusive copyright text in any of my images that I value, and put on the web.

The only time I didn’t? One of my pics was used by a national newspaper weekend suppliment (printed at about 3 inches square, but I knew it was mine!) without my permission! And it only took them about a year to pay up when I complained.

    Hey ho.

    Starbard indeed Caz. Cheers everyone.

I left comments all over his Flickr - polite ones - saying please take this down you have not asked my permission / credited me etc. Had a look today and they were still there but as of 2 mins ago they were taken down. Hurrah and justic prevails.

I shall try the ’subtle mark’ route as well.

    Feckers.
How did you manage to stay polite? I know imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but that takes the sodding biscuit.
Speaking of which, your cookies look fabulous - but if you should ever make a batch of ‘rat poison’ flavour, you’ll know to send it to that fan of yours.

They’re actually calling them their own photos?
