I watched the first episode of ITV’s Prehistoric Park tonight.
WTF?!!!
The premise is a strange one. A crack team of ‘dinosaur hunters’ go back in time - with the aid of their handy mobile time portal - to ‘rescue’ dinosaurs in danger of becoming extinct and bring them back to twenty first century safely in their palatial ‘Prehistoric Park’.
The danger, the excitement, the will-they-won’t-they manage to coax a T-Rex into the time portal!?
Complete with talking head interviews of the protagonists and a doom merchant voiceover by David Jason it is all done in the style of ‘Airport’ or ‘Animal Hospital’.
But, and the big but ITV, IT’S NOT REAL.
Stop panting Mr Presenter you are not running from a Triceratops, stop shouting at your camera crew to hide you are not about to get eaten by a wounded T-Rex - it’s not real! You are freaking me out!
IT’S NOT REAL!

Actually, I was more freaked out by the woman looking into the wooden shed at the two baby T Rex’s and saying ‘aren’t they cute?’ as they snarled at each other over a huge leg of some dead beast or other ….

I’m sure my TV listings had this down as a documentary aswell! How bizzare. It’s like, lets cross a b-movie version of Jurrasic Park with Back To the Future and CNN and see what happens…
