Katja – it’s all real, it was about midnight when I took it. Orvieto is a hill town with hardly any light pollution. The only thing that is lit up at night is the Duomo.

Thanks everyone! I was amazed how well this came out as it’s one of my first goes with my lubitel medium format camera. It’s classed as a toy camera (think it has a plastic lens like my Holga) and it weights nothing (totally plastic body) but you do get the odd cracking shot from it. A mere £17 off evilBay.

Lovely, and am impressed you managed to get such a good exposure just by guessing! If I’d tried it would probably have come out black.

Incantevole. I don’t think I ever saw it at night, but I did see it once when the sun, low in the sky, hit it full on. It was magnificent. Thanks for thinking of me.
