Rules of evilBay

1. The tension when you have less than an hour to go on a auction will be horribly palpable.

2. You must watch your bid - and update the page - every minute ’til the close or some other f****r will outbid you at the death.

3. You must watch your bid without your boss seeing you jab the refresh button manicially.

4. Never trust a seller called imbiggerandharderthanyouare.

you absolutely MUST bid the maximum you want to pay - assume you will be outbid by 1p on whatever figure you put in. Would that annoy you? Then bid more. Bid up to the figure where you would not care if outbid, even by 1p. Then you won’t care if you are outbid!

Sage advice Bubb. However, I did win (was being very pessimistic) so all was well. Small items seem to be quite easy to bid (vintage / handmade clothes) on, it’s the bigger ones that cause the problem (vintage dollies) and the fact that a lot of Japanese collectors have big buckeroonies to play with.

I have this terrible feeling that all the pictures I put on eBay won’t get that sort of feeding frenzy til after I’m dead and rotting and festering and moldering.
    typical, eh?
