Slip of the tongue

On Saturday Bubb and I were discussing matters various when I said:

“I hated Rod Stewart and Emu as a child…” Que explosion of laughter from Bubb.

I fear I shall not live this one down.

    Yes, he did. A bit like the Corbetts with Sooty. Stewart had him first but then took a liking for a different type of leggy bird and so parted company with the worlds most violent puppet.

    Didn’t Emu do backing vocals for The Faces ? I understand they fired him when they realised he wasn’t actually making any sounds.
