In anticipation of learning Dutch and moving to Holland, I have started a Dutch blog at 20Six NL. I don’t quite know exactly what to expect or what will happen. Will people be offended I can’t speak Dutch? Will I make as many lovely friends as I have on 20Six UK? Will I find out lots of interesting facts about the city that Bubb and I plan to call home in two years time?
It would be wonderful to make some friends before we go.
I don’t think UK 20Sixers can comment on it sadly [or take the p*ss out of my faltering attempts at Dutch].
I really really hope it all works out. Who knows I could meet the Dutch versions of HJB, Pog, ‘Boon, Luda, Chauncey and Kate.

It’s a sad weakness of the 20six international sites that we can’t cross-comment without registering as users. I visited a .fr blog, and was really pleased to find my French wasn’t too bad, still. It was also amusing to find that, contrary to what we’re taught at school, the French don’t obey “the rules” either!

I had a German blog on the german site for a while - I twittered in German and put photographs up and then a few people on the site asked me if I’d duplicate my DMTS stuff on the German site..which wasn’t what I wanted. I have since deleted it.
